This prospective cohort study examines how environmental conditions affect intensive-care patients using continuous physiological and environmental measurements from wearable sensors. Functional data analysis identifies noise as the most influential environmental variable and shows that functional additive models capture relationships that conventional analyses based on averages or isolated measurements can miss.
