Abstract

This capstone paper addresses the fragmentation of the affective sciences by proposing a shared teleological framework. It describes affective phenomena as processes that either adjust behaviour in relation to a human comfort zone or monitor those adaptive processes, providing a common structure for organizing existing theories and generating new research.
